If you've ever used a hands free helper, like this:
you might find that something is lacking. Its a little clunky, so I dissected a gorillapod and glued some alligator clips to the ends
This platform has 4 useable arms to hold what you're soldering and the wires you want to solder to it
The arms are also modular so you can switch out different attachments, like a magnifying glass
I also made a single arm with a magnetic base that can be attached to anything that a normal magnet would stick to
Which works really well attached to the arm of a quick grip
